RESPONSIBLE GROWTH

Growth Management

Suburb Houses

Being a long-time resident of Woodbury, I have personally witnessed the rapid growth of this young city.  Like me, many other Woodbury High School graduates have chosen to stay and raise their family right here.

Our extensive parks and trails network, good schools, parks and recreation opportunities and youth sports programs means new residents are choosing Woodbury as their new home.

The beautiful city that offers plenty of amenities is not immune to challenges. PFAS contamination in our drinking water and the changing EPA and MDH health based values has caused our city to build a temporary water treatment facility, and more recently, smaller treatment facilities at individual wells.

Since the beginning of my time on council in January of 2021, I have advocated for the slow/no growth until our permanent water treatment facility is operational.

In July of 2023, the council finally saw the need to adopt a "growth management" policy. This policy delays the  approval and start of NEW DEVELOPMENTS until closer to the anticipated opening of the Permanent Water Treatment Facility in 2028

I will continue to be a voice for RESPONSIBLE GROWTH even after our water treatment facility is operational.
